About Forefront Physical Therapy

The clinic that treats the cause.

Most clinics manage your symptoms and call it a plan. We built this place to end them: one-on-one, with a Doctor of Physical Therapy, every single visit.

Our Story

This isn’t our story. It’s yours.

Dr. Dan Benson broke his back skiing in 2005. Six months later, he was skiing again in New Zealand: an experience that turned into a lifelong pursuit of the sports he loves, from soccer and golf to trail running, triathlons, and even barefoot water-skiing.

He’s advanced-certified through the Gray Institute (FAFS, CAFS, 3D MAPS, GPS, Female Chain Reaction, Foot-Ankle, Active Aging, and Functional Yoga) and in Functional Range Conditioning (FRC). He’s an active member of the APTA and its Washington and Montana chapters, and he’s licensed to practice physical therapy in both states.

Forefront is a family business: his wife Anna is an RN at UW Medical Center, and together they’re raising two kids, Caden and Aurelia. Dan stays active in the Seattle sports community, from screenings for the Green Lake Running Group to Seattle Dance Medicine and the Seattle Pediatric Sports Medicine Group. The people who do best here are the ones who fix things: their houses, their teams, their families. This is where they finally fix the thing they’ve been putting off: themselves.

“My goal is to make this world as good a place as possible by helping those I am fortunate enough to come to know: family, friends, patients, and anyone else I’m lucky enough to meet. It’s a privilege to use my expertise in human movement, empathy, encouragement, and kindness to guide people back to pain-free movement and a more enjoyable life.”

What We Believe

Four things we’ll never compromise.

Your 40 minutes. Not shared.

No techs bouncing between rooms, no handoffs mid-visit. Just you and a Doctor of PT, the whole time.

Find the why. Then fix it.

You’ve probably chased the pain itself before and never found why it started. We find the why, then the ache stops coming back.

Plans end. That’s the point.

You shouldn’t need a punch card. Every plan comes with a graduation date, so you always know how close you are.

You’re not a protocol.

Your job, your body, your goals: that’s what your plan is built around, never pulled from a generic sheet.

The Difference

Not your typical clinic.

A typical clinic

  • You explain your pain to a different aide every visit
  • Your session gets split with two other patients
  • The same pain creeps back in a few months
  • No graduation date, just book again next week

Forefront Physical Therapy

  • One-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy, every visit
  • Your full 40 minutes, uninterrupted, every time
  • A thorough evaluation before we treat anything
  • A plan with an endpoint, mapped out on day one

Feel the difference in your first visit.

Rooted in Seattle

This is our neighborhood too.

We treat our own neighbors, teammates, and kids’ coaches. The mom who’s been pushing through it so nobody else has to worry? She’s probably on our schedule too. Recovery is a lot more personal when it’s local.
