Get to Know Dr. Primus
From the South Florida coast to UF PT school.
Dr. Devin Primus, DPT, PT, Physical Therapist
I grew up in a small town ten minutes from the beach in Southeast Florida with my parents and older sister. Growing up I played basketball, judo, and enjoyed fishing and camping. I attended Florida Atlantic University to major in Exercise Science and Health Promotion. After undergraduate college I attended the University of Florida to pursue a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
I entered the medical field upon graduating high school with a Nursing Assistant license, working on orthopedic floors in two South Florida hospitals. That gave me insight into where patients begin their recovery journey and a fuller picture of what my patients go through, which helps me provide better care and compassion. During my clinical internships in PT school, I worked in a level 1 trauma intensive care unit, an outpatient neurological clinic, an outpatient orthopedic clinic, and an outpatient sports clinic, where I worked closely with athletes after ACL injuries and athletes preparing for return to sport.
My core values include treating people with compassion, respect, and trying to improve myself a little each day. Patients often deal with not being explained the full picture of their injury and feeling like they do not have the space or time to express their concerns. I provide a space for patients to voice those concerns and work with them to understand their next steps.
I enjoy providing sports-related and post-operative treatment for knee, ankle, and hip injuries. Overall, I enjoy treating any person looking to improve their functional abilities and return to the activities they care most about.
